Many parents known that they want to improve their child’s sleep but aren’t sure where to start. That’s why I created this short quiz to help you find the best place to start.
Sleep training simply means teaching your child to fall asleep on their own. So when they have natural awakenings at night, they go back to sleep without crying, calling to you, or creepily materializing at your bedside in the middle of the night.
There are lots of different factors (child’s page, parental needs, other associated behaviors) which can factor in to a choice.
Before you start sleep training, I recommend that you have a few things in place:
- Your child is healthy and growing well. (If you aren’t sure, check with your child’s pediatrician).
- You have a simple, set bedtime routine that you are doing every night at the same time.
- You are ready to make a change to help with your child’s sleep.
